This was the first time that white metal diamond jewelry was
shown in India. Usually diamonds here are put on white metal that is silver
quoted with gold so that it is more affordable. The gold coating on the white
metal provides a very high shine. The fashion show was unique because it showed the
timelessness of conventional jewelry designs and brought them into a modern
context. Very popular models were at the diamond fashion show, such as Carol Gracious, Vidisha Pavate, Nayonika Chatterjee and Amanpreet Wahi. Also at the diamond fashion event was Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha, fashion designer Puja Nayyar, jewelry designer Naina Balsawar and singer Shibani Kashyap. The money earned from the jewelry fashion show went to the Rotary Eye Bank, and there were many buyers on hand.
Botswanan women show off Botswana diamonds Three powerful Botswana women will discuss the benefits of the diamond trade in their country at a meeting March 21 at London’s Chatam House. The women are the chief executive officer of De Beers Botswana, Sheila Khama; attorney general, Athaliah Molokomme; and governor of the Bank of Botswana, Linah Mohohlo. The three women three will discuss the opening of the Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB), which will occur March 18. The three women will talk about the importance of the diamond trade in their country. The largest industry in Botswana is diamonds, which is 33% of the country’s GDP. With the opening of the diamond trading company, Botswana will have one of the world’s largest diamond sorting and valuing plants. The new diamond industry in the country should cause other industries to sprout, including polishing and manufacturing. Diamonds can now be found in space Scientists have now discovered a way to find diamonds in space using an infrared telescope. Diamonds from space are actually quite common, but they are very small. Approximately 25,000 could fit in one grain of sand. Space diamonds are made of carbon like those on earth, so studying them could assist scientists in discovering how molecules made of carbon develop. Carbon is the building block of life on earth. Space diamonds form in a very different way than on earth, where they are created through high pressure and temperature. In space they form through very low pressure and temperatures that drop to -400 Fahrenheit. The place to seek space diamonds are in some meteorites that have fallen to earth. About 3% of the carbon inside is in the form of nanometer-sized diamonds. Rare purple diamonds found in Quebec DIANOR RESOURCES and WEMINDJI EXPLORATION have uncovered very rare purple diamonds from their Ekomiak V property in the James Bay, Quebec region. Workers from the firms found 649 diamonds, including nine purple diamonds, from 18 surface rock samples that were thought to be 2.7 billion years old. Natural, fancy-colored diamonds are rare and expensive. Purple is one of the rarest colors. The biggest purple diamond is 335
x 379 x 225 microns. All of the colored stones came from samples with high
diamond counts. The biggest white diamond was one measure 1.06 x .98 x .56 mm.
Laurence Graff brings $15 million in necklaces to auction Billionaire British diamond jeweler Laurence Graff brought in the holidays this week by flying in two huge diamond necklaces worth $15 million from London for auction. This was for the company’s mid-December cocktail party for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s 17th Annual Discovery Ball. One necklace consisted of white diamonds with a 30-carat pink briolette and another had three strands with white diamonds and 1,000 carats of rubies. Some of the guests on hand at the ball included Bridget Koch, Petra Levin, and Ellen Jaffe. They were the first guests to see the company’s grand auction donation – a white gold and diamond bracelet that runs $50,000. Graff has recently opened stories in Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as at Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich, CT, USA. He also has a 5,600-square-foot shop on Madison and 63rd Street in New York and a Geneva boutique is to open in 2008. Diamond sales not so recession proof after all, according to Harry Winston It has long been believed that diamonds are recession proof, always holding their value, such as those found in expensive stores such as Harry Winston. The logic is that anyone who can buy a $20,000 pair of earrings is too rich to cut spending because of a slow economy. However, recent financial data from Harry Winston Diamond Corp. suggests that luxury items may not be so immune from recession. The fluctuating stock market in the US that started this past summer, caused in part by the credit crunch in the housing market, worried investors on Wall Street, so much so that they stopped purchasing diamonds. Sales at Harry Winston stores in the US dropped 22 percent to $19.4 million US in sales in Q3, compared to numbers in 2006. The volatility in the US economy is being blamed by the Canadian firm. Softer diamond sales are resulting because much of the company’s business is driven by New York City. Harry Winston retail sales from August-October 2007 were $53.8 million. This is less than the $54.5 million sold in the same period last year. GIA launches new educational website aimed at holiday diamond buyers The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is trying to help diamond buyers this holiday season with the launch of a new educational site to help people buy good diamonds. The website, www.gia4cs.gia.edu, states that 40 percent of couples have their engagements between November and February, so this is a good time to brush up on your diamond buying skills. According to the site, it is very important to choose a highly qualified jeweler, do your research on what your bride likes, learn the ‘four C’s’ of diamond quality, and stress that your jeweler give you an INDEPENDENT diamond grading report for the diamond you want to buy. Next, make sure you get a good appraisal of your diamond and have it properly insured. If you do not know what your bride to be would want in a ring, the site advises to buy the stone alone without the setting. This way she can have the ring set in the way that most pleases her. The site also warns that general members of the public risk being fooled by unscrupulous diamond dealers. Most of us do not know the difference between natural, synthetic or treated diamonds. Without the basic knowledge given at GIA’s site, it would be easy for people to not get what they pay for.
Graff cuts Lesotho Diamond into 26 gems worth $50 million US Famed jeweler Laurence Graff has cut the Lesotho Promise diamond into smaller diamonds worth $50 million US or more, according to wire reports. He will display these gems at his London workshop. Graff purchased the 603-carat diamond from Gem Diamonds Ltd. For $12.4 million in 2006. Gem Diamonds is a miner of precious gems in Africa. It is reported that Graff used a team of 35 people to cut and polish the stone to produce 26 diamonds that weigh 224.11 carats in total weight. Graff has jewelry workshops in five cities and stores from Moscow to Las Vegas to Dubai. He is a self-made billionaire with a fortune of $3.1 billion. Graff reported that he paid $1.2 million per carat for a blue diamond, noting that diamond prices have more science involved than with paintings and other arts. He said that diamonds are priced according to carat and there is a rarity factor involved with diamonds of different colors. Painting prices are more subjective and tend to fluctuate more.

Here are some SEO article samples from other industries in my freelance copywriter service: October 2011 - Web Design Need a Good-Paying Job? Consider San Diego Website Design, High Tech Jobs and More Medical Products What Vision Screening Professionals Absolutely Need to Know About Vision Testers The most important tool a vision screening professional uses to measure eye health is a stereo optical vision tester. However, vision testing is not always considered to be an important part of an eye examination by busy vision screening professionals. The fact remains though that there is no better way to check on the progression of many eye diseases than one of these devices. The best testers are able to measure visual acuity, potential visual acuity, contract sensitivity, glare and color. Good vision testers should require no physical interaction and should automatically refract and allow minute refinements in sphere and cylinder to provide the best optimal subjective refraction. The device should offer 16 white LEDs and a diffuser system for thorough lighting. Two optical paths typically are provided, which is key for patients who wear glasses with protective lenses. It should be able to perform many vision screening tests in one sitting, including distance and near visual acuity testing, astigmatism, phorias, stereopsis, fusion, ARMD, glare testing, contrast sensitivity and potential acuity testing. The device should be lightweight (10 pounds or less), and adaptable to each patient and allow them to sit in a relaxed position throughout testing. Some vision testers also do peripheral visual field analysis. It also should have user-friendly software to save and print patient data and results. All of the tests should be finished within 2-4 minutes. The latest generation of these tools provides vision screening professionals with all aspects of vision assessment in one rapid screening device. In fact, a top notch vision tester – such as this one – is probably just as important a tool as a strabismoscope! Pet Stores, Pets The Internet has revolutionized the way people shop for just about everything, and pet supplies are no exception. The advent of online pet stores means that no longer do you have to drive to pick up things for your favorite pet. They can be delivered right to your door! Also, keep in mind that you usually have access to far more pet-related products at an online store than you do at many local pet shops. Plus, you often do not have to pay any sales tax at an online pet store.
An online
pet store is typically divided into various sections by animal. You may see a
section for dogs, cats, birds and reptiles,
for example. In the section for dogs, you could see subcategories such as new pet, auto travel, beds, carriers, clean up, collars and
leashes, kennels, dog clothes, flea and tick prevention, gates and doors,
grooming supplies, health care, chew toys, and housebreaking aids. The selection of pet supplies you will find at an online store will amaze you! Each section in the site will usually have a top-selling products section. This definitely makes your buying experience easier. You can just browse what most other dog or cat owners are buying for their pets. If you see, for example, that many other cat owners are buying a particular type of flea collar, that may give you more confidence in your buying decision. It’s also very easy to research online the best pet product -- for example, a dog leash – and then go back to the online store and buy it. Online pet stores don’t just sell products. They also provide you with plenty of free information that you don’t have to leave your house to read. For example, you will probably find plenty of “how-to” articles on how to care for a new pet, such as housebreaking, the importance of proper grooming, preventive care, choosing the right food for your dog, and preventing dental diseases. Other common article subjects at online pet stores include pets and kids, pet care for seniors, and winterizing your pet. Very often, you can learn most basic information on how to care for a new pet from this online information without spending any money at all! Just print the pet article out and refer to it as you need it. One of the new features at some online pet stores is an online pet adoption center. That’s right: You can now search for your new pet through a database of thousands of animals from across the United States. Many online stores have free newsletter sign-up programs. You can receive a lot of free, helpful information about how to care for your pet delivered right into your email inbox. Another plus is you can receive an email as soon as an out-of-stock pet supply comes in. No more need to make phone calls to the local pet store. Of course, if you want to see what the store has to offer in person, most stores have a store locator. Just type in your zip code, and you can find the pet store nearest you. In summary, shopping at an online
pet store offers consumers many advantages: convenience, product selection, free information and newsletters, and
online adoption. Canine Virus
